Sustainability

Eastnine’s overarching business concept is to be the leading long-term provider of modern and sustainable office premises in prime locations at selected markets in the Baltics and Poland. For Eastnine, sustainability is an integral part of the company’s general management strategy, taking responsibility for the environment, the people and the markets in which we operate.

Our responsibility

Eastnine wants to be a leader in sustainability in our regions, where we run both our business in a resource-efficient way and at the same time contribute to the real estate industry in our region developing in a sustainable direction.

Eastnine’s sustainability efforts are directed by e.g. the UN framework Global Compact and its ten principles around human rights, labour rights, environmental issues and anti-corruption efforts. With inspiration from this framework, GRI Standards and in close dialogue with our stakeholders, Eastnine has identified material topics within two focus areas; future-proof properties and future-proof organisation, which are laying the foundation for our goals and sustainability efforts in the long term. Eastnine has a target to achieve climate neutrality in its property operations by 2030 and to reduced emissions from new construction and tenant improvements. The Company works continually to improve the energy performance of, and to reduce emissions from, the properties.

One step in limiting the impact on the environment, increasing performance and reducing emissions from our property operations is to sustainability-certify the properties. Eastnine’s goal is to certify 100 per cent of the portfolio, excluding such areas expected to undergo significant redevelopment. As of the first quarter of 2024, 100 per cent of Eastnine’s properties are sustainability-certified. As of 2018, Eastnine voluntarily publishes sustainability disclosures based on the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) framework. The Company also provide statements in accordance with the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosure (TCFD) and the EU taxonomy regulation. The sustainability disclosures are part of the Annual Report.
